Privacy Notice for MissionSquare Retirement Positions

This privacy notice is for applicants for ICMA Retirement Corporation (“MissionSquare Retirement”) positions, whether such applicants are currently employed by MissionSquare Retirement or not. 

Please review this notice carefully, as it applies to the personal information we collect about you solely in your capacity as an applicant for employment with MissionSquare Retirement.  

If you receive an offer of employment with MissionSquare Retirement, you may receive additional requests for information, including a background check, subject to additional disclosures.

Categories of personal information that MissionSquare Retirement may collect or generate

MissionSquare Retirement may collect or generate personal information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you. The categories of information we may collect or generate about you include but are not limited to:

  • contact details such as your name, email addresses, physical addresses, or phone numbers;
  • information about the devices you use to contact us, such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer browser or the device ID on your smartphone, and geographic information;
  • information about your educational and professional background;
  • other demographic information such as gender, race and nationality (such information will only be collected through a voluntary disclosure for compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reporting purposes and will be kept separate from all other personnel records and only accessible by the Human Resources department, or post-hire for benefit purposes or other legal requirements);
  • depending on your job application, biometric information such as fingerprints; and
  • inferences or insights we may draw from such information.

We may obtain personal information directly from you  and from third parties such as data aggregators or companies with which we have business relationships, subject to additional applicable disclosures.

We do not hire minors under sixteen years of age and therefore do not collect personal information from them.

Use of your Personal Information

We only use such personal information for purposes related to your application for employment with MissionSquare Retirement.  Our policy generally is to keep this information strictly confidential, and to use or disclose it as needed to vendors who use it only to render contracted services to MissionSquare Retirement and keep it confidential, or as permitted or required by law or by you.

MissionSquare Retirement will notify you of any material change in our use of your personal information.
