Robert grew up in Alameda, attending the College of Alameda & UC Berkeley. He started at BART as a part-time Cash Handler in 1981. In 1985, Robert participated in a Transit Vehicle Mechanic training program eventually working in Component Repair at the Hayward Shops. He has served as Chief Steward at the CHB and OHY, Chapter Secretary and served on the last 2 negotiation contracts. Robert is currently serving his third term as Vice President of the BART Chapter as well as the IPC Chair for SEIU. Robert enjoys planning for retirement, traveling on Family vacations and spending time with his High School Sweetheart and their 7 grandchildren.
