A Message from MissionSquare Retirement CEO and President, Lynne Ford

As MissionSquare Retirement’s new CEO and President, I intend to maintain the deep commitment and tradition of service our organization has established while continuing to move our organization forward to better serve you, our public sector clients. I am proud of MissionSquare Retirement’s recent achievements such as our expanded and new technology solutions, and recognition by the Washington Post as one of the area’s top workplaces. I’m also proud of our strong focus on the retirement-planning needs of public employees.

MissionSquare Retirement’s mission has always been to help public employees build retirement security. I’m extremely passionate about leading MissionSquare Retirement because of this mission. I’ve worked for 30-plus years in the financial services industry, building and growing retirement organizations and focusing on helping individuals achieve financial security. I believe it is essential to equip families and individuals with the products, investments, and solutions they need to build a secure retirement.

Additionally, I have a strong personal affiliation with the public sector. My mother was a schoolteacher, my father a public employee, and a number of my uncles and cousins are police officers and firefighters, so I understand firsthand the crucial role government employees play in our communities and the importance for them of achieving retirement confidence.

I also share MissionSquare Retirement’s commitment to diversity. I believe we need to practice inclusion so that everyone from all backgrounds can bring their true selves and be valued and respected based on what they offer in the workplace and to their communities. I have heard a lot about MissionSquare Retirement’s diversity and inclusion, and I expect to continue on that path.

At previous organizations, I’ve also been deeply involved in fostering innovation and improving the quality of service offered. My goal is not just to meet your expectations for quality, exceptional service and flawless execution, but to exceed them.

As MissionSquare Retirement nears fifty years of helping public employees build retirement security, I’m excited to get to know you, and listen and learn how MissionSquare Retirement can work towards providing the highest level of service to those who serve our communities.
